We’ve just had a few days away in Mallorca, I’ve never been to the Mediterranean so it was all new for me.

I packed some stitching of course! When I was travelling round Europe with my daughter we found a little cross-stitch shop in Bruges and both bought a kit from the same range. I bought one of blue flowers, I think my daughter bought the pink one. There were quite a few in the set, all very pretty, from a company called Le Bonheur des Dames, they have a shop in Paris but we ran out of time to visit.

I started the kit about a week before we left, stitching the iris first, it seemed to take ages , I was probably about half way through when we set off. I stitched in the airport and of course on the plane.

We stayed in Palma, did some sight-seeing and some relaxing round the pool. Now I’m not one for sunbathing, I sit under the shade of a parasol and I stitch! In the evenings when we were in our room I stitched a little more…

By the time we got home I wasn’t far off finishing it. A few more evenings and it was finished.

It’s a lovely design, I’m really pleased with it. I love the detail in it. I did make a couple of mistakes – mainly from misreading the key – the symbols for each colour weren’t unique enough for my brain! Put it this way, there were six variations of > , pointing each way and in bold!

I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it, it’s about 5″ square. so a nice size for a book of some kind 🙂 Once Helen has stitched here’s we can do a swap, that’s the plan.
