I’ve started a new project on holiday, it’s a bird alphabet in cross stitch from Les Brodeuses Parisiennes, so it’s officially called Le grande alphabet oiseaux. I spotted a few months ago on Pinterest I think and I managed to track the pattern down. What appealed was the style of the illustrations and the fact that most of them are recognisable birds! Of course it’s going to end up as a fabric book!!
I’ve started at the beginning with a cute robin, I’ve just finished the cross stitch so now I have the back stitch to do which I think will really lift it.
This is my alphabet so far, and a snippet of the view from our balcony on the ship.
I live in a busy market town in Yorkshire with my husband, kids, dogs and chickens. I love trying new crafts, rediscovering old ones, gardening, walking...anything creative really
I started this blog after my New Year resolution worked so well. My resolution (the first one I've ever kept!) was to post a photograph of my garden on Facebook every day. My hope was that I would then see what was good in the garden and not just weeds and work, which was my tendency. The unexpected side-effect was that I have enjoyed many more hours in the garden.
I am hoping that 'The Crafty Creek' will have the same effect.
Happy creating!
This is really pretty Margaret. I have never fancied cruising but I guess I would enjoy sitting on the balcony to stitch – as long as I could see land fairly close lol. I do love river cruises its just the thought of all that water that puts me off.
Thanks, we never fancied cruising until I saw a cruise holiday that ticked all the boxes of places we wanted to visit! I don’t like too many sea days, I liken it to staying in a hotel complex, a day by the pool, I prefer sitting in the shade stitching! I do fancy a river cruise though.
