Me Made May

Simplicity 2917Last week I decided to take part in the Me-Made-May challenge, it’s organised by Zoe on So, Zo, What do you know? The idea is to challenge yourself to wear your own creations throughout the month of May. This was my challenge;

‘I, Margaret of the Crafty Creek sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’15. I endeavour to wear at least one garment or accessory made by me each day for the duration of May 2015’

Mmm, if the first week is anything to go by, it’s going to be quite a challenge. For a start, I’ve realised most of the clothes I’ve made are summery, so I’m hoping it’s going to warm up a bit. A lot of my clothes are more suited to going out, rather than walking the dogs, sorting out the chickens…I also don’t actually have that many clothes…it could prove interesting!

I have to confess that the ‘accessory’ bit is a bit of a get out clause, I promise not to use it too often, as my handbag and purse are all made by me! I had to use it yesterday as I went walking near Bolton Abbey so I had my proper walking gear on, my made be me was therefore my purse and my tissue holder!

At the moment I’m rotating three winter skirts, a shirt and a top, so it could get somewhat monotonous, I need a bit of sunshine and warmth, it is mid May after all!

So if you see me in a strange outfit, just remember it’s Me Made May time!

About craftycreeky

I live in a busy market town in Yorkshire with my husband, kids, dogs and chickens. I love trying new crafts, rediscovering old ones, gardening, walking...anything creative really I started this blog after my New Year resolution worked so well. My resolution (the first one I've ever kept!) was to post a photograph of my garden on Facebook every day. My hope was that I would then see what was good in the garden and not just weeds and work, which was my tendency. The unexpected side-effect was that I have enjoyed many more hours in the garden. I am hoping that 'The Crafty Creek' will have the same effect. Happy creating!

    Good luck Margaret! The chickens might lay extra eggs if they think you’re making an effort just for them – don’t tell ’em it’s mmmay! 😀

    I’ve used the ‘accessories’ clause too. Haven’t needed to use it yet but I will!
