Celebration time!

After 20 years of entering the handicraft secti0n of Otley Show, I’ve finally done it!…I’ve won the cup! I’m chuffed to bits:-)

The Eric Walton cup is awarded to the person with the most points in the handicraft section. I had a new tactic this year, rather than entering one item in every class I entered two or three where possible!! I entered 16 items this year in six different classes. I actually only won with five things, I’ve won more before, but this year it was enough to win the cup!!

I won first prize for my Butterfly Garden cross-stitch and a beaded necklace , second prize for one of the padded coat-hangers and the Scottie dog, third prize for the Indian Mosaic.

Of course I’ll have to defend my title next year….!

I live in a busy market town in Yorkshire with my husband, kids, dogs and chickens. I love trying new crafts, rediscovering old ones, gardening, walking...anything creative really I started this blog after my New Year resolution worked so well. My resolution (the first one I've ever kept!) was to post a photograph of my garden on Facebook every day. My hope was that I would then see what was good in the garden and not just weeds and work, which was my tendency. The unexpected side-effect was that I have enjoyed many more hours in the garden. I am hoping that 'The Crafty Creek' will have the same effect. Happy creating!
