Unique Bloggers Award.

unique-blogger-awardI was well chuffed just after Christmas to be nominated by Tierneycreates for the Unique Bloggers award. It’s the first time I’ve been nominated for an award so it did give me a bit of a lift, so thank you for the nomination.

As part of the acceptance I have to answer three questions set by Tierney, at this point I nearly bottled it 🙂 …

  1. What mythical creature would improve the world most if it existed?
  2. What would be the coolest animal to scale up to the size of a horse?
  3. What ridiculous and untrue, yet slightly plausible, theories can you come up with for the cause of common ailments like headaches or cavities?

Anyway, here’s my answers;

  1. Unicorn, everyone would love a unicorn (and it’s the only mythical creature I can think of!!)
  2. A golden retriever, though the hair shedding would be even more of a nightmare!
  3. Lack of creative activity, not enough sewing or creating in general to release tensions and stresses 🙂

I would now like to nominate some of my favourite blogs, please don’t feel obliged to continue this onwards, it’s just my way of saying thank you for inspiring me.

My three questions are…

  1. What’s your earliest sewing memory?
  2. What have you made that you are really proud of?
  3. Is there another craft you would like to try?

If anyone is wondering, here’s my answers;

  1. Sitting with a square of binca aged about three, embroidering running stitch around it, probably a ploy to keep me quiet !
  2. This is a hard one for me, as there are a few very different things; my wedding dress, all lace and beads, My Splendid Sampler quilt as I learnt so much making it and it was a pretty big undertaking with two blocks a week for a year! Recently it would have to be my flower trellis embroidery, just so far out of my comfort zone…as my mum would say, ‘there’s no such thing as I can’t’
  3. Oooh, weaving, needlefelting, goldwork, silver jewellery…but I really can’t start another craft 🙂

About craftycreeky

I live in a busy market town in Yorkshire with my husband, kids, dogs and chickens. I love trying new crafts, rediscovering old ones, gardening, walking...anything creative really I started this blog after my New Year resolution worked so well. My resolution (the first one I've ever kept!) was to post a photograph of my garden on Facebook every day. My hope was that I would then see what was good in the garden and not just weeds and work, which was my tendency. The unexpected side-effect was that I have enjoyed many more hours in the garden. I am hoping that 'The Crafty Creek' will have the same effect. Happy creating!

    Look at you in the wedding dress, so pretty and the dress is lovely too. I agree we should bring unicorns into being. I loved your flower sampler from the time you first shared it, so colourful, cleverly excuted and all round gorgeous.

    Congrats – some of the questions that come round with those award nominations are a bit ‘out there’ aren’t they? 🙂 No wonder you are so proud of the wedding dress – it’s beautiful. I love your embroidery and especially your flower sampler – I find it inspirational although I don’t do embroidery (though I almost never say never).
    I’m just off to grapple with the thought of a horse size golden retriever – I might even have a little nightmare tonight.

    That wedding dress!! Oh, my–it’s fabulous! But, then, all you make seems fabulous–you are clearly committed to challenging yourself and making every detail count. And thank you for the nomination of my blog! That’s a very kind compliment and I so appreciate it! I’m not sure I’ll get around to responding to your questions in a post although I just might–they’re really good questions!

  12. Oh I LOVED YOUR ANSWERS! Could you imagine a giant golden retriever! That would be so awesome! You have given me a delightful image to ponder, I guess it would be worth all the shedding fur (and maybe it could be spun into a fiber to make sweaters from, etc!) 🙂
