Bouquet Sampler

Sampler Aux BouquetI’ve managed to do a fair bit of cross-stitch this week, so I’m over half way on my Sampler Aux Bouquets from Jardin Privee. I started it nearly a month ago and I really did think it would take me a long time, as its about 90cm long and 18cm deep. It’s  a compilation of three samplers and when you buy the three patterns it includes the instructions to sew it as one. I’ve stitched sampler number three and I’m now half way across two.

Sampler Aux BouquetsThere’s lots of different things to keep me interested on this sampler whilst avoiding being too bitty. I love the way Nathalie (the designer) combines the formality of the flowers with the whimsical butterflies flitting around. The colours are gorgeous, almost medieval-ish, there are two shades of blue, green and brown, and three shades of pink. At the moment there seems to be a lot of pink, but I know it will be balanced out by the blue cottage I will be stitching this week.

I’m beginning to think I really ought to think of something else to embroider, rather than just pictures as I’m running out of wall space!

I’m linking up with Kathy for Slow Sunday Stitching , Super Mom No Cape for Vintage Embroidery Monday and Bits ‘n Bobs, why not have a look and see what hand sewing everyone else is up to.

Sampler Aux Bouquets

About craftycreeky

I live in a busy market town in Yorkshire with my husband, kids, dogs and chickens. I love trying new crafts, rediscovering old ones, gardening, walking...anything creative really I started this blog after my New Year resolution worked so well. My resolution (the first one I've ever kept!) was to post a photograph of my garden on Facebook every day. My hope was that I would then see what was good in the garden and not just weeds and work, which was my tendency. The unexpected side-effect was that I have enjoyed many more hours in the garden. I am hoping that 'The Crafty Creek' will have the same effect. Happy creating!

Your sampler is so pretty. I have started making some of my cross-stitch into pillows because I don’t really need anymore on the walls either. Sigh…..

Your cross stitch sampler is coming along beautifully! It is such a problem, isn’t it, when you enjoy creating something so much but then begin wondering what you are going to do with ALL your finishes! I have the same problem with all the stitchery quilts I have in progress. Thanks for linking in at Bits’nBobs
